Editorial policy
How M365Brief sources, tests, reviews, labels and corrects its content, and how sponsors are kept separate from editorial.
Every post on M365Brief follows these rules.
Sources
- Every news item links to a primary source, such as Microsoft’s own documentation, blog or message center post.
- Items taken from secondary sources are marked Unverified until they have been checked against a primary source.
Testing
- Guides are tested in a lab tenant before publishing.
- Each guide says what version or date it was tested on.
Use of AI
AI tools may be used to find, summarise and draft. A human reviews every published word and is responsible for it.
Real organisations and data
No client names, tenant IDs or real data appear anywhere on this site. Examples use made-up names and lab data.
Previews and dates
Preview features and announced dates can change. They are labelled as such.
Sponsors
- Sponsored content is always labelled Sponsored at the top of the post and in the RSS feed.
- Sponsors cannot edit or pre-approve editorial content, and never see it before publication.
- Sponsors get no promise of positive coverage.
- Links to sponsors use
rel="sponsored noopener". - No third-party advertising scripts. Analytics uses Google Analytics 4 with visitor consent.
Corrections
When something is wrong, the post is fixed and shows an Updated date with a one-line change note, and the change is logged on the corrections page.
